Classes
Whether it’s a hosted event at you location or something just for your staff, I will happily teach a class. In this list while I have a variety of topics, not all work for both. Hosted events can only be the fun classes - staff can be both fun and technical.
Cookie Decorating
fun
Want to learn how to make those intricate cookies you see on social media? I got you! I’ll show a class the techniques and methods needed to make a fun, decorated cookie. We go on a fun journey while I show you how to decorate 5 cookies at the same time. What style you ask? We’ll agree on a theme when you book the class, and I will create 5 designs to match the theme. At the start of the class, each student will have 5 baked cookies, royal icing in the needed colors, and a cute gift box to bring them home in.
Gingerbread Houses
fun
Tis the Season! I will walk the class through building and decorating a fun custom holiday gingerbread house. Multiple designs will be offered for you to choose when booking - including your own location!
I make sure the buildings are stable and structurally sound, but decoration is 100% up to the student. I’ll bring icing, candies, and color; you bring the creativity! Go wild.
Valentine’s Day Cookie Box
fun
Love is in the air! Do you want to give something a bit more personal this year? In this class, we’ll build and decorate a cute, heart-shaped cookie box for that special someone. Candy, chocolate, glitter, luster and icing will all be available for you to make the cutest box you can. Think Valentine’s Day cards but edible! :)
Piping
technical
Do you want more consistency in your piping? Do you want to be more confident in different methods of decorating? Practice makes perfect, and in this class we will PRACTICE. I’ll show you a variety of different piping tips and tricks. We’ll work on your stability and consistency while also addressing any specific issues you are having with the products while working. Not getting the right piping on that specific dessert? Having issues topping the drinks with the whip cream you have? Bring it! Let’s figure it out together.
Bread
technical
BREAD! Very simple ingredients, but technique can make it a bit daunting. We talk about what you are looking for in making yeasted breads, and then you use what you learned. I will be there every step of the way to make sure you understand what you are looking for.
Pate a Choux
technical
It sounds very French; I know. The pate a choux paste is incredibly versatile and a great pastry staple to learn. While it can be a bit intimidating, I will walk you through the technique and make sure you understand what you’re looking for. Once you understand the method, you are set to be welcomed to the wonderful world of cream puffs and eclairs.
Fruit
technical
Want to up your parfait game? Want fruit tarts that look amazing? Fruit decorating is pretty simple, but a lot of people don’t understand how to do it effectively. I’ll show you how to properly cut, store, and decorate with a wide variety of fruits.
